The purpose of this course to is to provide the attendee with a knowledge of the history of electronic notarization in MD and in other states, the general trends of states enabling legislation, the practices of how electronic notarization will work under the model legislation once passed in a state, the obligations of the electronic notary under the model legislation, and the practical implications relating to conducting closings as the practice is driven by consumers and lender demands. The course will also educate the attendee how electronic closings will be handled and what preparations a title agency must implement to meet the changing demands of the lenders and consumers.
